Franck Ribery’s impressive appearances for Bayern Munich last season have earned him the nomination for the European Footballer of the Year award, organisers announced Sunday.
The Ballon d’Or shortlist of 30 footballer is compiled by France Football magazine and is based on nominations from football writers around the globe.
Ribery’s team mate at Bayern Munich, Italian striker Luca Toni has also been nominated.
The gong, formerly known as European Footballer of the Year award, will be awarded on Dec. 2 by 96 journalists from all over the world.
